The filtration of water is generally done to get away TDS (totally dissolvable solid) and the germs and bacteria in it. The world health organization states that a TDS level of below 300 is drinkable, and the Indian standard states that below 500 is good enough.
So for any TDS level above 300, you should get a water purifier. The filters of a water purifier need to be changed after a certain time when its life is over. Remember more impure the water is, the more rapidly it needs to be changed.
Generally, the filters used in a purifier are:
RO MEMBRANE FILTER: The RO filter is used to minimize the TDS level in water by 80-90%, but it takes 3 liters of water to give 1 liter of pure water, but on the downside, it also filters essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium, etc. If your water is full of TDS above 500, then you must have a RO filter water purifier.
UV FILTERS: It filters out bacteria and germs from water without changing its taste and minerals. It is a chemical-free process. It is for healthy water.
UF FILTERS: It also filters out dead germs and bacteria but is unsuitable for high TDS.
MF FILTERS: It removes visible dirt and soil. It is attached outside of a purifier.
MTDS: It can add more TDS to water if the TDS level is low, but recommended by our team as it adds unpurified water to do so.
Now that we have understood the different filters and all, let us look at the KENT Supreme Copper RO+UV Water Purifier and understand the specifications of a purifier and discuss its features one by one.
